Ingredients

  • 3 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cups whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Melt the tablespoon of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it begins to foam.
  2. Add the 3 cups of peeled and chopped apples to the melted butter, stirring to coat them evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples, then stir to combine.
  4. Cook the apple mixture for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
  5. Remove the apple mixture from heat and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spoon a layer of the caramelized apples into the bottom of four serving glasses.
  7. Top the apple layer with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  8. Drizzle caramel sauce over the whipped cream and repeat the layering process.

Notes

  • Apple selection matters: Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
  • Cool before layering for ideal temperature.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar per cup of whipped cream to stabilize it.
  • Use clear glasses for a beautiful presentation.
  • Serve with the apple layer still slightly warm.
