These Heavenly Raspberry Swirl Brownies transform the classic chocolate treat into something extraordinary, delivering a perfect balance of indulgence and brightness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare the raspberry swirl by combining raspberries, sugar, and a splash of water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, mashing the berries with a wooden spoon until they break down into a thick, jammy sauce. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter together in a heat-proof bowl over simmering water, stirring frequently until completely smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until well combined. Gradually temper in the cooled chocolate mixture, stirring constantly until completely incorporated.
  5. Gently fold the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda into the chocolate mixture using a rubber spatula.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Drop spoonfuls of the raspberry sauce across the surface, then use a knife to create swirls.
  7. Bake for 28-32 minutes until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Perfect the raspberry sauce: Cook until thick enough to hold its shape.
  • Room temperature eggs matter: Let them sit out for 30 minutes before starting.
  • Double-check chocolate temperature: Allow the melted mixture to cool for 5-7 minutes before adding to eggs.
  • Master the swirl technique: Use 10-12 dollops and create 3-4 figure-eight motions.
  • The toothpick trick: Remove when a toothpick shows moist crumbs but no wet batter.
