Ingredients
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 fillets salmon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
Whisk together 1/4 cup maple syrup, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and 2 minced garlic cloves in a small bowl until completely smooth and well combined.
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet and season with a light sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Brush about one-third of the maple glaze over the salmon, making sure to coat the tops and sides evenly.
Bake for 8 minutes, then carefully remove the salmon from the oven and brush another third of the glaze over the fillets. Return to the oven for an additional 7-10 minutes.
Check for doneness by gently pressing the thickest part of a fillet with a fork – the salmon should flake easily but still maintain a light pink color in the center.
Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for 2-3 minutes.
Drizzle the remaining glaze over the salmon just before serving.
Notes
Choose even-thickness fillets: Salmon pieces of uniform thickness cook more evenly.
Room temperature matters: Taking salmon out of the refrigerator 15-20 minutes before cooking allows it to cook more evenly.
Layered glazing technique: Applying the glaze in three stages creates that restaurant-quality finish.
Watch for doneness cues: Look for white protein beginning to appear on the surface.
Let it rest: Those 2-3 minutes of resting time make all the difference in the final texture of your maple glazed salmon.
Save the skin: Cook it skin-side down the entire time without flipping.
